The first snow has fallen the Pillersee Valley is ideally equipped for the winter! Already, the PillerseeTal shows his winter splendour. On the mountains, the slopes ready for the start of winter. All three mountain railways in the PillerseeTal - Bergbahn Fieberbrunn, mountain railway stone slab and Bergbahn Pillersee - plan the start of elevator operation for middle or end of November. Despite its relatively low altitude (1,000 m) the Pillersee Valley is considered the Tyrolean snow hole par excellence. Winter with up to seven metres of fresh snow are not uncommon here, even top 14 meters were already measured. Not only for skiers the Pillersee Valley therefore from early December to late April is worth a visit, even cross-country skiing fans enjoy the perfectly groomed trails. World Elite snow competence of the PillerseeTal estimates every year again biathlon is initiated the winter in the Pillersee Valley traditionally with the IBU World Cup in Hochfilzen (9-12.12.2010). While other regions still impatiently waiting for the white splendour, the world elite of the Nordic sports meets in the Pillersee Valley already and is impressed by the professional conditions every time.
